NICENESS

Niceness is a familial gathering of vibrantly diverse personalities rallying around personal, socio-political, and environmental issues. Among its ranks include activists, an organic farmer, a life coach, a permaculture designer, a Buddhist bodybuilder champ, two music teachers, an adventurer, an arborist entrepreneur, and a Doctor of Psychology. The Colorado-grown band also has the rare distinction of being fronted by a firebrand female vocalist who oozes shamanistic charisma hypnotizes with seductively stirring vocals and upholds a fierce commitment to “art in action” ethos. “We want people to come to Niceness shows for the quality of the music and our message, and because we have something to say,” Koral affirms.

The Niceness band consists of frontwoman and songwriter Koral Delatierra; drummer, vocalist, and songwriter Michael “Mikey G.” Gomberg; guitarist Dustin Wilson; keyboardist and vocalist, David “Bassie” Christeson; bassists Mike Enriquez; percussionist Jonathon “Johnny B” Barfield; alto sax player John White; and tenor sax player Danny D’Alessandro. Together, this collective is more than a band; it’s a state of mind. Mikey G., who coined the group’s moniker, explains: “‘Niceness’ is a colloquial outburst that translates to ‘Right On!,’ ‘Sweet!’ or, as Jamaicans exclaim, ‘Irie!’. The name is a proclamation of jubilance.”

J-CALVIN

J-Calvin is a soul-funk-groove band from Durango, Colorado. On New Year’s Eve 2017, the five members of J-Calvin brought their unique and varied musical backgrounds together for the first time. The result was a soul-abducting fusion of authentic lyrics, jazz-influenced harmonies, and Dilla-Inspired beats. On October 20th , 2018 they celebrated the release of their debut album, Heart Glow, to a sold-out crowd headlining the iAM Music Fest and a showcase set at Telluride Jazz Fest. In the bands first two years they played over 150 shows across the Western United States at some of the areas finest music venues and festivals. Currently the group is working on its new concept video and EP “Dont Stop Me” set to release in 2020. When not performing as J-Calvin, all members dedicate their time as music educators to iAM Music, a 501c3 non-profit music school that helps youth and adults pursue music, cultivates community events, and builds meaningful creative networks."

Durango's first grain-to-glass distillery since prohibition

At Durango Craft Spirits we mash, distill, age and bottle in our downtown Durango distillery using only Colorado grain. Our spirits are created using a non-GMO white corn from the Ute Mountain Utes in Towaoc, Colorado, while our remaining grains come to us from the Colorado Malting Company in Alamosa, Colorado.

Our Tasting Room offers a varied cocktail menu featuring our Soiled Doves Vodka, Mayday Moonshine and Cinder Dick Straight Colorado Bourbon. Our spirits and cocktails share stories of Durango’s vibrant history. Hard work and ingenuity are qualities rooted within Durango’s threadwork; those same qualities show through in our spirits and cocktails.

FAQ

Ticketing and Seating

The General Admission area is located at the east end of the parking lot (in front of the Distillery entrance).

This section is under a different liquor license and guests in this area can only purchase drinks from the Distillery bar.

Seating in this area is on a first come first serve basis. Assigned seating is not available in this section.

Preferred seating is located closer to the stage and comes with a table, chairs and full access to both bars.

Due to COVID restrictions with regards to maximum occupancy and social distancing, we are using this model to support safe outdoor concert practices.

Tickets are not refundable but are 100% transferable. You can give or sell your ticket to someone else if you cannot attend the event.

When you buy a table (for 2, 4 or 6 people), the buyer of the table should forward the downloadable ticket to the other attendees. All attendees will check in with the same ticket.

Not a problem! You can arrive at any moment as long as the attendees present the ticket or give the buyer's name at the front desk.

Food and Drinks

You can bring your own food in, but bringing your own drinks (other than water) is forbidden during the event as it violates our liquor permit.

Because Durango Craft Spirits and iAM MUSISC have different liquor licenses, we cannot allow anyone sitting within the premises of the Distillery to have drinks from the iAM MUSIC Bar.

Food will not be available but feel free to bring your own food or food from other businesses.

COVID 19

We will be following all the most recent San Juan Basin Health guidelines

Masks are mandatory anywhere and anytime during the event unless you are seated at your assigned table.
